“It all started early in the morning, around 5 am. I realized what was happening when I heard the sirens. My parents live separately. I promised my mother that if something happened, I would come to her. My dad wanted to stop me, so I only took my phone with me and nothing else. I spent a week with my mother. When my nerves could no longer stand the noise outside the window, I decided to leave. My mother stayed because my brother is 19 and cannot leave the country. The journey was long and hard. On March 1st I crossed the border of Poland. From that moment I understood that I need to move on and start building my life in order to be able to help my family.”
